Turkish peach production takes an important place in the world peach production and export. Though it can be cultivated everywhere in Turkey. 50% of the production is made in Marmara Region. The Mediterranean Region produces early varieties,while the Marmara and Aegean Regions produce late varieties. The varieties produced in our country have generally yellow flesh ones. (early varieties; Earlyred- med early; Dixired, Cardinal, Red Globe- late; J:H Haale, Cresthaven, Monreo, etc). There is also another variety of peach called "yarma" with a firm flesh. This variety has a high aroma, excellent smell and very attractive look. In addition to fresh consumption, specific varieties are produced for canning and fruit juice. In recent years, an increase has been observed in production and exports of nectarine variety because they are downless.

Apart from the South-eastern Anatolia Region, a wide range of domestic varieties is grown everywhere in Turkey, together with foreign varieties. Turkey is among the first 15 countries in world pear production and exportation. The export varieties are; Williams, Santa Maria, Akçe, Mustafabey for the varieties produced in summer; Ankara, Beurrée Clairgeau, Beurrée d'Anjou ve Deveci for the varieties produced in winter. Among the other domestic varieties, it matures firstly.
Akça: It matures the first among the other domestic varieties(beginning of July).Akça has a small size, sweet and juicy flavour.Matured pear is yellowish-light green.
Mustafabey: This kind of veriety is harvested in the second week of July.Under the direct sun exposition, the skin becomes red.

Pomegranate takes an important place in both Turkish fruit sector and foreign trade. Turkey is one of the native countries of pomegranate. Pomegranate is produced through systematic plantations mainly in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Southern Eastern Anatolian Regions. The production areas are Finike, Kemer, Antalya, İzmir and Mersin. There are different varieties responding to different needs such as the size of the fruit, colour and thickness of the rind,softness and juicy of its seeds. The important export countries are Germany, Austria, United Arabian Emirates, Belgium and Denmark. Arabian countries prefer sweetest varieties while European countries prefer red skinned, sweet and sourish varieties ("hicaz" being the most favourite export variety). Pomegranate is susceptible to be stored during 4-6 months because of its particular (specific) texture of the rind. Pomegranate is also used in food industry.

Turkey is the 6th country in world grape production. 2/3 of the grapes harvested are seedy, 1/3 is seedless. When we take a general look at the production areas, we can notice that seedless grapes are produced mostlyin the Aegean Regipn, while the Marmara produce grapes for wine industry and fresh consumption. The Mediterranean Region supplies the first fruit of the season, The Central and South-eastern Anatolian Regions have shown an important development in the production of almost all types of grapes.30% of the output is offered as fresh, 37% of the output is dried, 30% i used a pectin and its derivates, and 3% is used in wine industry. The exported of grapes are divided into 2 groups; seedless ans seedy grapes. Today, "seedless grape" takes the first place in our export of table grapes. A seedless variety, "sultani" constitutes 95% of the exported grapes.

Turkey ranks 1st in the world cherry production. "Ziraat 0900", which is a domestic variety, is demanded due to its crisp, aromatic, juicy flesh and its long storage duration. The high quality of this variety is brought about by the agricultural resources, hot, arid summer and cold winter. Cherry is a variety of fruit cultivated widely over the country.The cherry production is the first agricultural production in Turkey, which HACCP and EUREPGAP standards required by the European super markets are applied. In mid May ,"sapı kısa" begins in the region of İzmir (Kemalpaşa) and followed by "napolyon(Ziraat 900)" in the regions Afyon, Burdur, Isparta and Salihli in June-July. In addition to fresh consumption, the production of Starks Gold 0900, convenient for processing, is increasing.

Turkey is the biggest fresh and dried apricot producer in the world. While Malatya, Elazığ, Nevşehir ve Niğde are the most important cities for the production of exquisite dried apricots, the other cities produce excellent apricots for fresh consumption. The ecological conditions of the Mediterranean and Aegean Regions are ideal to produce the early varieties. "Hasanbey" is the most favourite variety for fresh consumption while "hacıhaliloğlu" is preferred as dried apricot. Almost 80-85% of the dried apricots produced are exported. Dried apricots are exported to almost 70 countries,mainly to USA, Germany, England, France.
